This component tests upper body strength, grip, and endurance.

Description

You will raise a simulated ladder to its full height and lower it back to the ground.


Preparation Tips
To prepare for this event, you might attach a 75 pound bag to one end of a rope threaded through a pulley or hung over a smooth round wooden or metal pole. The pole or pulley should be located approximately 23 feet above the ground. Make sure the weighted bag moves freely. You can practice pulling the weighted bag up to the top of the pole or pulley and back down again - using a hand over hand movement throughout the process. Wearing a backpack weighing approximately 30 pounds while practicing is a good idea.
